Miscellaneous Information:

“As the Advocacy and Learning Coordinator, I am responsible for supporting GNDR’s advocacy efforts at global level and through its members, and I am responsible for facilitating knowledge exchange and collection of lessons learned among the network’s members. I am involved in direct lobbying activities to raise GNDR members’ voices with decision-makers and support members’ capacities in advocating at national and regional level. I am also responsible for capturing knowledge and best practices across the membership and disseminate them to increase knowledge exchange among members, through an online learning portal and through direct member-to-member exchanges.”

Valeria has recently joined GNDR after several years of experience working in Disaster Risk Reduction within the United Nations system. She has experience working at national and regional level in East Africa (Rwanda and Kenya), and has previously worked as DRR technical focal point for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Geneva, Switzerland. Her area of focus is DRR capacity development through knowledge management and advocacy. Valeria’s academic background is in International Relations. She speaks English, French and Italian, and gets by in Spanish.
