Strategy in action

Our strategy provides an overarching framework for GNDR’s collective action, representing the shared goals of our more than 2,000 member organisations worldwide.

To bring this ambitious strategy to life, we’ll draw on GNDR’s governance structure.

Members

Our member organisations are the heart of our network. In the everyday work they lead within their communities, they’re already helping make people and places more resilient, contributing to GNDR’s goals and building valuable knowledge along the way. We ask members to connect these contributions to our goals, so that together we can better understand members’ interests and activities, and identify, learn from and celebrate their work.

National Focal Points

Our National Focal Points, elected to represent member organisations in each country, play an important role in motivating and mobilising members, and representing their voices nationally. They help identify opportunities and needs, connect members with one another, and broker collaborations.

Regional Advisory Groups

Our Regional Advisory Groups, bringing together a region’s National Focal Points, identify and prioritise the parts of the strategy most relevant to their context, developing rolling annual workplans to find opportunities to contribute to our shared goals. For example, RAGs might prioritise collaboration and partnership building, including fundraising, particular risk drivers, thematic areas, regional programmes, or regional forums as part of their work.

Global Board

Our Global Board ensures every region across the world is represented, and holds overall accountability for achieving our strategy. It’s made up of RAG members alongside independent Board members.

Secretariat

Our lean Secretariat supports our member organisations and governance groups across the network, helping enable collaboration, learning, and the resourcing of network activities.
