Hosted by GNDR, the 4th edition of GNDR Global Summit "Stronger Together: Connecting Communities" was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 22nd-25th of May 2018 at the Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel.

The Global Summit 2018

GNDR's Global Summit aims at bringing together GNDR members in order to provide opportunities to increase collaboration and sharing of knowledge between members across the network. In this 2018 edition, over 100 members from 66 countries attended the event under the theme “Stronger Together: Connecting Communities”.

Objectives of GNDR's 2018 Global Summit:

Improve understanding of the work undertaken across GNDR, the benefits of being a member and provide an update on changes made at the Secretariat
Facilitate collaboration between members and (i) other members; (ii) donors, governments and the private sector; and (iii) the Secretariat
Enhance accountability of GNDR’s governance structures and advisory bodies (the Board, Regional Advisory/Steering Groups) to members
Empower members to share knowledge and experience with each other

Agenda

For the first time, members have been able to run sessions at the Global Summit under the following 4 themes:

Comprehend – covering learning, monitoring and evaluation, and updates from the Secretariat.
Connect – covering the network, including governance, membership, and opportunities to connect with Board members.
Collaborate – covering information-sharing and partnerships with all stakeholder groups, including CSOs, government agencies, donors and the private sector.
Communicate – covering communication in the network, and for advocacy and fundraising.

Online participation

For non attending members all plenary sessions were livestreamed and a selection of sessions in breakout rooms are now available on specific themes on GNDR's Youtube channel.
