Burundi always celebrates October 13th as it coincides with the celebration of the Heroes of Independence 1961. The Minister of Public Security addressed the nation with a speech. The Buterere Commune was invited to participate in national ceremonies. On October 24th there will be an inaugurating activity of wood nurseries to plant on a deforested mountain in the commune of Nyabikere in the Karusi Province, where Buterere Commune is also doing work.
