Funding update - December 2017

Good progress continues to be made in securing adequate, sustainable and timely resources to support the implementation of GNDR’s “Stronger Together” strategy.

GIZ (Germany):

The grant ‘Strengthening collaborative capacities for resilience 2017-2020’ was approved and is being implemented to achieve Objective 2 of the GNDR strategy.

SDC (Switzerland):

Funding towards the implementation of the GNDR strategy. Funding period 2017-2020.


The grant ‘Institutionalising sustainable community-based disaster risk management’ 2017-2020 was approved and is currently being implemented by 9 partners across the Asia, Africa and Latin America and Caribbean regions.


The grant ‘Frontline: Turning community views into action’ 2014-2017 has been extended into 2018 (March).


A proposal for ‘Civil Society IMPACT DRR in Latin America and the Caribbean’ 2017-2018 is approved and currently being implemented in the LAC region.

DFAT (Australia):

Views from the Frontline pilot is ongoing in two countries - Philippines and Tonga.

European Commission (EU):

The grant ‘Up-Scaling Community Resilience through Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR)’ has moved to the next steps to prepare the contractual arrangements.


GNDR (as part of a consortia) has been shortlisted for the UK ‘Aid connect’ grant. Next steps to be detailed in the 1st quarter 2018.
