Impact worldwide

GNDR is a network of over 1,000 civil society organisations that work to strengthen resilience and reduce disaster risks worldwide.

As a network, GNDR creates impact and positive change in three ways:

1. Policy and institutional change
For example:

  • Policy adoption and amendment
  • Better institutional processes
  • Improved enforcement of policies

2. Behavioural change

For example:

  • Communities changing practices to build resilience
  • Members changing their operations to better meet needs of the most marginalised

3. Partnerships change
For example:

  • Joint workplans and projects developed
  • New networks established
  • Members securing funds due to our support

Attending the GNDR Global Summit has given the Disaster Management Training Centre of Mulungushi University the knowledge and skills to initiate behavioural changes in vulnerable communities.
Knowledge sharing and training opportunities support Rwandan DRR organisation to secure funds and become a National Coordinating Organisation for Views from the Frontline project.
In Thankot, Nepal, women are taking the lead in making their homes and communities earthquake-ready.
