Every day for the last year we have tweeted details of a disaster happening around the world to highlight disasters passing under the radar and yet impacting the lives and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands. Our members around the world sent information and we also found disasters in the local news. Some days we were overwhelmed with the number of disasters and tweeted more than one. You can see the disasters we tweeted on our flickr map.
After 365 days this is what we found...
What now?
Thank you for all your tweets and examples during the year. We will be sharing our findings from the campaign at a booth at the World Humanitarian Summit to raise awareness of the complex contexts we work in. We want humanitarian, DRR and development actors to take into account these realities so that their actions really do help those at the frontline.
