Vacancy: Consultant Service: Data Visualisation using Power Bi

GNDR is a member-led global network of civil society organisations for disaster reduction with more than 1500 members across 129 countries, with a vision to prevent hazards from turning into disasters, and reducing the impacts of the communities most at-risk on their lives and livelihoods.

GNDR is currently implementing the USAID-BHA funded program Locally-led humanitarian solutions: Building resilience in fragile contexts affected by climate change”. The aim of the project is to achieve – Community resilience to natural disasters in the fragile contexts affected by climate change impact.

The project will be implemented in 11 fragile countries impacted by climate change across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. One of the key activities under the project is to collect the perspectives of at-risk communities in the conflict affected areas , impacted by climate change through a survey.  16 communities will be selected per country under the project to participate and it is expected that approximately  610 people will participate in these surveys in each of the 16 communities i.e. at least 107,360 individuals will provide their response and contribute to this survey.

GNDR is seeking a consultant to help with the design and building of a power-Bi-driven dashboard for our Locally-led humanitarian solutions: Building resilience in fragile contexts affected by climate change project in line with GNDR branding guidelines, which allows the user to filter data and represent the data graphically on multiple screen devices.

Deliverables:

  1. The data input required for the dashboard should be possible both from computer/laptop and mobile devices
  2. The dashboard should be able to aggregate the collected data and be able to represent the data in a disaggregated manner on the dashboard in the graphical format
  3. The raw data sheets in the excel sheet should be made available to GNDR
  4. Support the editions required by the CSOs
  5. The consultant should provide a hosting solution and provide URLs for each language versions to GNDR
  6. The data input and the dashboard will be developed in 4 languages – English, Spanish, French and Arabic

The data consultant should have following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in data visualisation creation using Power Bi
  • Knowledge in creating automated links and pulling data from the data source and presenting the data graphically to enable survey data analysis
  • Experience in providing technical capacity building to the users
  • Fluency in English language is mandatory

The work will be completed remotely and so candidates must be able to work and support the project team remotely and to respond to queries in a timely manner.

Daily rate to be negotiated.

Duration of assignment is: 1 July 2023 – until 30 June 2024:

  1. Post development of the dashboard, the data consultant should be available until the period when all the data is fed in by the selected 16 CSOs – for a minimum of 36 months
  2. While the initial phase of the project will be intense, subsequently the consultant will provide oversight and maintenance of the dashboard
