Global Summit for Disaster Risk Reduction 2024

20-22 February 2024 | Nairobi, Kenya

Hosted by GNDR, the international event brought together sector leaders and innovators, predominantly from the Global South, who work in disaster risk reduction and resilience building.

Learn, share and collaborate

The three-day event was a unique opportunity for professionals to network, learn about the latest challenges and solutions in risk reduction, and build new partnerships for localisation.

GNDR members, civil society organisations, funders, DRR experts, academics, businesses and representatives from communities most at risk of disasters attended.

Anticipatory action, climate change and DRR

Participants learnt about new and emerging issues in anticipatory action, climate change adaptation and DRR.

Collaborative sessions identified innovative solutions to localisation, and organisations from across the sector  created new partnerships for action and advocacy.

The role of communities and civil society in shaping national and international policy were at the forefront of the conversation.
