At a time when the complexities of the geopolitics of risk are increasing and the international development sector is facing increasing uncertainties, the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction 2025 was an important space to come together and showcase the importance of localisation, local voice, and risk-informed development.
As the penultimate global platform for the Sendai Framework for Action, the theme Every Day Counts, Act for Resilience Today was crucial for stakeholders from across the globe to gather around in a now or never push towards achieving the ambitious goals and targets of the Sendai Framework.
Despite the financial turmoil caused by the USAID crisis, GNDR took our largest ever delegation of GNDR secretariat and members to a global platform. Together, we contributed to the coordination and policy messages, and the amplification of civil society voice being heard at the global platform.
